I have never enjoyed Beer. But that does not keep me away from trying it repeatedly. Kya pata kab kaunsi pasand aa jaaye. 🙂
Not that I have never tried Beer, par its Strong taste has never been able to make my soft taste buds fall in love with it.
My only tryst with Beer drew a bit closer when I was introduced to Shandy (A combination of Sprite and Beer) @ Café Mondegar in Bombay.
Since then shandy has been my companion at Beer Only parties.
The first ever Beer Week carnival at Gurugram Breweries powered by Zomato, from 11th June to 18th June, 2016
However, when I heard that an event called “Gurugram Beer Week happening powered by Zomato” this month then it was tough to resist, especially when my friends, Ishan Grover Bhai and Archit Singhal Bhai were part of it.
The week long carnival promised to expand Gurugram’s craft beer culture. The carnival touched over 20+ Breweries across the city with a variety of tasting sessions, parties and master classes in the art of pouring the perfect beer concoctions throughout the week with a focus on showcasing quality craft beer and educating beer enthusiasts.
As part of the Beer Week, they had planned a beer Crawl covering 4 Breweries. The cost of the same was Rs 799 and entitled us to a Free Mug of Beer at each place and second Mug was at Buy One Get One free offer
The Event was to start from Bronx at Sec 29, Gurgaon. After reaching there and catching up with a few friends we were explained the thought behind the event and also how the evening would proceed for us.
I had full faith in Ishan Bhai and he suggested me a special beer that was not very strong and Voila, It did the magic. I had a Mug full of it along with Chicken Nuggets and Chicken popcorns.
After having our fill at Bronx we walked to the opposite side where Punjabi by Nature is located.
We climbed to the terrace where arrangements were made for us. However that evening being super Hot & Humid, they immediately made arrangements downstairs in the Super Chilled Restaurant. I already had my fill of beer so just popped in some Peanuts while I talking to some old and newly made friends.
I loved the waterfall behind the bar at Punjabi by Nature and shall go back some time to have a meal there.
Also, what caught my attention was the signage that they offer Selfie stick if you need to click a few selfies. This was a great thought by the management and good Marketing Stunt too.
After Punjabi by nature we got seated in Ola Shuttles that were specially arranged for the evening.
The Buses took us to Galleria market in Phase 4 where Uptown is located.
It was a working evening and still poora ka poora Uptown was filled. I wonder Gurgaon ke log sham ko yehi karte hai kya.
Anyways, here too I was introduced to another beer of which I had a few sips. However I could see faces of my friends glow with each Sip. Seems ki Beer mein Dum tha 🙂
Uske baad we were supposed to move to Lagom where they had made special arrangements of Beer, Food Shood and also a Band was brought in specially to play for us.
I have been to Lagom a couple of times and each time I have come back smiling.
So here I felt a lot like Home and ordered for a Beer mug with Sprite and loved the first sip that went down my throat. I suggest ki Shandy should come specially packed separately in bottles as a Pre Mix 🙂
Along with beer we were served Veg Salt and Pepper Starters and we also ordered  Prawns and Chicken Tikka.
While all this came to the table, the Band was already in full swing and sham ka suroor acche se phail gaya tha.
Kab 90 minutes beet gaye pata hi nahi chala. Then I realised that it’s time to go back home with my friend who had not been drinking this evening. With high Spirits and lots of stories in my mind I reached home with a Smile.
