Was Motivating others, “Follow your heart”, got Motivated myself

Yesterday night I was spending some time with myself and thinking “How things would have been so different if I had not gone my way (Followed my heart/ belief’s). How I would still be Surviving and not living”

And then some images from the past flashed by and one Image where I stopped was when I was working as National Marketing Manager for “Maya by Gitanjali” and had more than a Lakh Sq ft of Retail space with me spread across 5 stores in Delhi, Guwahati, Allahabad,Indore. In 2010.

Around September 2010 I planned the Diwali promotions for all stores and named it Festive Fever.

A day before the promotion was about to begin I went to Delhi Stores to explain the promotion, Train them on Sales Techniques & to boost their morale so that they would deliver the best in the coming festive season.

And same evening I took Prayagraj Express train Allahabad. The train reaches the destination at 7 am. With 3 hours more to go for the store to open, I thought to create some more Training material and got my hand on this presentation which I have embedded in the blog below.

I went through it for 2 mins and then again for 3 minutes and loved the message.

Immediately, I downloaded it through my thakka hua Reliance Data Card and proceeded for the store.

Once the hired Projector was installed and the Store team of 35 people sat I explained the “Festive Fever” offer and then gave some basic training on Sales Techniques & Consumer Behaviour.

After that I shared this presentation & spent some time interacting with them at each slide. When the presentation, ended I could see a big smile on everyone’s face, ek nayi umang si thi and they clapped and all this took me to a world where I started questioning myself. I asked myself, am I following this myself.

Then next day on my way back during 12 hour Train journey I kept thinking about it.
Probably that was the first time a seed was sown in me that I should not listen to others and do what I think was right and focus on my energy rather than on other others.

Dekho jee Bhagwaan ne Do kaano ke beech mein Dimaag iske liye hi diya hai ki ek kaan se suno, usko Dimaag mein process karo aur fir jo kaam ka hai andar rakho aur bekaar dusre kaan se nikaal do.

When you are going reaching new Heights or even when you are Low, many people would come to give you their advise, hear it only from people on whom you can rely on & then too DO ONLY what your heart says.

I remember 16 years back, when we were selling a property. Papa made me and my brother sit together and told us “After I would have sold this property, Many People/Relatives would come to you and say that your father sold it for less and we could have got a higher price” Also when I buy, the same people would come and say that they could have bought it at a much lower price, This may agitate you & make you come back to me and demand explanation or revolt. So only if you both agree then I would sell it at this price or I would not” We agreed to what papa said. And believe me yahi hua. Jo “Syana” Rishtedaar milta he would repeat the exact words Papa warned us about. And had Papa not warned about this earlier, I would have not been sharing the same camaraderie with my father today.

I coined this 4 years back “Karo wohi jo mann mein aaye, baai Duniya bharr mein jaaye”  (Second part not literally though)  and have lived the same 🙂

Reason for this blog was so that I could remind this to me whenever I go off track and also because I observe many Friends Blaming others for the decisions they took because of others advise and it didn’t work out.

To them I want to tell, Close your ears as the Frog did, Follow your heart and do what you think is right and if something goes wrong then please “Don’t Blame, Don’t B-Lame” so Follow You heart 🙂
