I was still rubbing my eyes, having woken up late on a lazy March morning, when Tikku sir pinged me and asked me to come along on a foodie theatrical journey. Little did I know that a sleepy nod would turn into a spectacular, exclusive afternoon studded with powerful sounds, visuals and of course, mouth-wateringly well-made food!

 

• THE THEATRE CLUB AND LOUNGE

Up on the second floor of Radisson Blu is a premier lounge, aptly titled the Theatre Club and Lounge, walking into which leaves you with a tingling sensation of walking the red carpet into another world. Studded with state of the art lights and wooden décor from another world, the first impression of the Lounge would settle like little diamonds into your eyes. As you adjust to the sparkle, you’ll then open your eyes to the nuances which make the Theatre Club and Lounge a deliciously magical experience!

We arrived to an empty afternoon at the lounge, the staff still hung-over from a late party last night. The place has a 24X7 license to function, isn’t it cool? For all those late nights you didn’t know where to go and shake a leg, here is something, right here in our own West Delhi.

Primarily being a lounge and night club, what they mostly serve are finger foods. We had an array of veg and non-veg preparations to taste, many of which had been innovated upon. The chefs had taken special care with their plating, so that even in the dim lights of the club, when your eyes adjust to the food in front of you, it attracts you enough to make you gobble it up.

We had Dahi ke Kebab, Beetroot Tikki, Malai Paneer Tikka, Mutton Lol Kebabs and Butter Chicken Croquettes for starters, and then a Dal-Paneer-Chicken-Mutton main course.My favourite was the Beetroot Tikki for the crisp texture and the plating on the bed of mashed potatoes generously drizzled with dahi-chutney-saunth, typical chaat style!

But forget about all this. Let me mention to you the unbelievable highlight of the place. They have their own MOVIE SCREENING SET-UP. Oh, and I don’t mean a projector and screen. I mean a proper silver screen supported by Dolby Digital sound. We had the chance to see a promo on that screen and I kid you not, the experience was as good as (if not better than) any theatre! The visual experience as well as the digital sound – well, it took our breath away!

I am not much of a party person, but even a person as reclusive as me found herself breaking into a jig when we were introduced to the DJ-and-Dance Floor part of the place. Sound and lights had been blended to create a heady experience where you know you can lose yourself to a night of happy, forget-it-all dancing!

What is amazing is that, of course, décor and menu had been chiseled to perfection while creating the experience, but the kind of technology the club has invested in is out of this world. Whether it is a theatre set up or the clubbing aspect, nothing but the best has been installed and that is why, perhaps, that even without ingesting a drop of liquor, we exited the club feeling dizzy with the experience.

Premium experience, chic décor and luxury interiors, the club also offers a private lounging area, richly accessorized with Versace furnishings and crockery. While there are a thousand things I can recount about the place to share the kind of experience it was, but most importantly, it is perhaps the only property of its own kind in West Delhi, which doesn’t boast of great clubs.

The Theatre Club and Lounge functions as a lounge, club, theatre, performance arena, and, oddly enough, we heard a few weddings had also taken place here. Why not? Other than the huge space inside, they have a lovely open terrace are, perfect for functions.

The space is multipurpose in every sense, and we’ll wait to see how much do they diversify in the upcoming days. However, the next time they conduct a film-screening, we would exhort you to go out and experience it. Your time and money would absolutely be worth it!
