2 Hotels that I have bachpan se connect are Jaypee Siddharth Hotel, New Delhi and The Claridges Hotels & Resortss
My Birthdays were celebrated at Hotel Siddharth and Hotel Claridges when I turned 5 and 6 respectively. As long as 32 years back
Ab Claridges ka chakkar to lagta rehta hai, par Siddharth ne aisa kuch kiya nahi jo apne aur kheenche.
Though have to admit, I cross Hotel Siddharth once a week kam se kam.
Today it changed!
We had a meeting and socha ki Rajouri Garden mein kahi chal lete hai.
Yaad aaya ki dineoutt ka @Great Indian Restaurant Festival” chal raha hai and thought to check if we find anything exciting there.
Itni der mein Abhishek Bhai bhi aa gaye and mentioned ki Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar has a new Buffet Concept Restaurant called Castle’s Barbeque accha lag raha hai.
On DineOut App Rs. 550 Buffet was for Rs 275 only. Plus Rs 50 as Booking Charge and that too gets refunded if we pay by Airtel Payments Bank.
Socha wahi chalte hai, par when Checked it on app to pata chala “Sold out Today”.
Tabhi nazar parri niche for a Buffet at @PAATRA, Hotel Siddhartha. Rs 1500 Buffet for Rs 750.
Now I was wondering 5 Star ka Buffet hai, Andar Mahaul to accha hoga, par Variety kam to nahi hogi.
Then checked the Deal Details and it mentioned
• 4 Appetiser (2 veg and 2 Non veg)
• 2 Soups
• 7 Salads
• 13 Main Courses (3 Non veg Curry Dishes, Fish, Chicken, Mutton) (4 Seasonal Vegetables- 1 paneer dish, 2 varieties of Daal) (1 Non Veg Biryani and 1 Veg Pulao)
• 1 Chaat Paapri Counter
• 1 Dahi Bhala Counter
• 6 Desserts.
Ab isse zyada kya hoga and parrkar mooh mein paani to aa hi gaya tha. Immediately we booked 3 Tickets. Best part tha it’s hardly 15 Mins drive from our office and bas pahunch gaye.
Could feel the nostalgia as soon as I entered the Hotel.
That Hand Symbol that is famous for Congress is also more or less the logo of Jaypee Hotels, the company that owns a few more hotels in India and also have constructed he Yamuna Expressway and the F1 track.
Took the lift up to the Upper Lobby Level and the Glass facade of Paatra welcomed us.
Done in wonderful Hues of Maroon and Beige the place looks classic.
The permanent Dewan type stage set tells you that every evening Live singing of Gazals happen here and yeh soch hi raha tha ki kuch jhankaar mujhe sunai dene lagi.
Jhankaaar nahi thi woh, balki manager Sahab ki awaaz thi.
I told him that we need a table for 3 and we have a booking through Dineout.
Manager Sahab muskuraye and suggested a table where there was ample sunlight, just perfect for us who love to click before we eat
He took my phone to fetch the code and returned it after 2 minutes.
We were told ki Snacks shall be served on the table and Baaki sab is on the Buffet counter.
Now, I was not expecting much from my khaana. Mahaul accha tha, bas wohi bahut tha.
I picked a White Triangle shaped plate and socha ki Cheh ke Cheh salads khayenge.
Bas daal liye saare and table par jaane laga tab saw barri si wicker basket. Khola to uske andar Biryani thi.
Ab Biryani ko bhala kaun samjahdaar insaan mana karta hai.
Salad ke saath Biryani bhi daal li and table par aa gaye.
Salads were mast except Aloo Chaat. Na na… kami chaat mein nahi thi, Just that I don’t like khatti cheezien. But i’m sure the ladies would have loved it.
Baaton ka daur chala and snacks bhi aa gaye.
Corn kebab, Paneer Tikka, Fried Fish and Chicken malai Tikka.
Corn Kebab was very good and so was my Chicken Malai Tikka. Fried Fish was good and Paneer tikka maine apni plate mein rakha hi nahi 🙂
I was surprised to see that many tables there were occupied on a Thursday afternoon.
The Service Staff seems to have been working here for a long time and that’s a good sign. They know their regular customers well and treat them well too. And they left no stone unturned to serve us well.
The Manager Sahab se baat hui and got to know that he has been working here for past 30 years. Walllah.
Ab Khaane ka time aaya to uth gaye and plate li. Himmat nahi thi zyada par added a spoon of each item on my plate.
Haak, Bhindi, Baingan Bharta, Methi Chicken, Matki Gosht, Dhaba Daal, Peeli Daal, Karrai Paneer and surpise Soya Chaamp. Abhishek Bhai aka Dilli_Ka_Foodie is a vegetarian and loves his food more than anything else mentioned that this is finest Soya chaamp he has had. Normally bahar log Maida milaate hai but that was not the case here. He also told me that normally Five Stars don’t serve Chaamp and this is probably the second one where he has seen this dish on the menu.
Ab kya bataye.. Sab mast tha… I repeat sab mast.
Ab jab Sab accha hai to kuch dampner hona bhi chahiye.
And Desserts ne woh kami poori ki.
Thought they had 3 pastries, Gajar ka halwa, Fruits , par maza nahi aaya. Fruits to titar bitar hokar parre the. Uppar se I was craving for some Thanda, Thandi kheer ya chalo Ice Cream hi mil jaati.
Pata hai ek reason yeh bhi hai ki Humare table ke saath ek kitty party chal rahi thi of ladies aged 55 and above. And I saw them relishing theri Teele Waali kulfi.
Bas tabhi se mooh mein swaad Teele Waali kulfi ka tha. Par when I requested it from the server, I was told ki they have taken the Kitty Party menu and Kulfi was part of it. Haaaaaaw. Pehle pata hota to un aunty-yon se hi ek le leta par ab to woh chali gayi thi
Koi na jee.. We had a super great experience in wonderful Environment, at a place that is more than 40 years old and at a price that made my wallet happy. Uske liye to Dineout and Great indian Restaurant festival ka dhanyavaad.
It’s on till 28th feb and shall be suing this offer acche se in next few days
