North Campus ka Khaana

Ab ek baat btata hu, na mein kabhi North Campus mein parra, na kabhi wahaan ka khaana khaaya. Yes, Khalsa College mein admission ka mood tha par woh hua nahi.

Last 25 years mein bahut suna Tom Uncle ki Maggi ke baare mein, Budde baba ki Bhel Puri ke baare mein aur Sudama ki Chai ke baare mein.

And till 2024 inme se kisi dukaan par mera chakkar nahi laga.

Jan 2024 mein “Dilli meri Dilli” jo rap create kiya tha maine usme we had mentioned “Campus ki Chai” so tab shoot karne gaye Sudama par and loved the Chai and feel.

Kuch din pehle met my friend Pavleen jee. Pavleen Jee describes herself as “Dil Se Actor, Zubaan se Anchor”. You would have seen her work in the Movies Sukhee, Angry Indian Goddesses, Gehraiyaan, etc.

Pavleen jee ne batya that she has studied at Hansraj College & used to enjoy the food around Delhi University.

Maine bol diya humko bhi khilao 🙂

She mentioned the Famous Bhel Puri Wala & Tom Uncle. Ab naam to suna tha par have never visited them—so humne plan bana liya to meet again and then eat.

Kuch din baad, we met at Sunil Sethi Bhel Puri waala jo last 40 years se yehi, Art faculty waali road par sabko Bhel Puri khila rahe hai. Swaad accha hai, Plate 60 Rs. ki hai.

Uske baad hum gaye Tom Uncle ki Maggi khaane. Naam to bas Maggi ka hai par. Along with 20-30 Kinds of Maggi, he has various kinds of Pasta too. Sab Veg.

I’m not very impressed with their Maggi, though. Shayad mujhe apne haath ki maggi hi pasand hai ya apni Bitiya ke haath ki 🙂

Apr ek baar khaana zaroori tha, so kha liya 🙂

Ab kha liya tha, to thora hajme ka khyaal bhi rakhna tha. Option was to eat Ice Cream, Drink Chai ya phir Banta.

Abhi soch hi rahe the ki saamne Banta ka ek stall dikh gaya and wahi ruk gaye.

Pait aur atma tript karne ke baad hum ne Phir Jhappi paayi and vaada kiya ki jaldi phir milenge aur jaldi phir se kuch khaayenge and then aapko dikhayenge 🙂

I know a few more places on North Campus, Kamla Nagar: Jaise Gopal, Bombay Bhel House, Brijwasi, Rawal Pindi Chole Bhature, etc.

Aur kya kya hai udhar khaane ko? Bataiye, Hum Jaate hai, Hum khaate hai aur aapko dikhate hai 🙂
