“Macau and Macao are same”
Till last week I use to think Macau is the proper Spelling, but an invite from the “Macao Government Tourism Office” changed that notion.
In the invite, it was mention as Macao. Yes with an O and not a U.
I thought probably the spellings have changed but on googling the same I realized that it was always Macau and Macao. Dono chalte hai.
This was a 3-day event at Cyber Hub by Macao Tourism showcasing, the Culture, Food, Dances and other tourist attractions.
Also, got to know that they have cute Mascot too, Mak Mak 🙂
After every hour there was a Festival like mahaul. Music Shows happening, Festival parade going on and yeas amazing Food being doled out from a “Food Truck”
To hum pehle khaane ki baat karte hai.
In the menu was an amazing Egg Tart. Veg and Non-Veg Dimsums with a Perfect taste and color coded in Green and Red Respectively 🙂
Then we had the Macao Special Minchi. Minchi is the prized dish of Macau and has various versions. Minchi word comes from Minced. What we had was Cooked Minced Chicken on a canape. We loved our version and Vegetarians loved the Soya version. It was indeed great.
You will see lots of Goan Touch in the food there and on searching, I realized that Macao was a Portuguese territory till 1999 and since Goa too had its share of Portuguese rule, the food that you find at both places would be somewhat similar.
The Entire Food preparation was done by celebrated Chef Nitin Pal Singh from Cook and Bake Academy.
The food was relished by all visitors without paying a Charge. Aise hoti hai mehmaan nawaazi 🙂
Arre Haaan, there was a Temporary Tattoo Maker too and got “I Love Macao” what else 🙂
I quickly got a Pic clicked with Mak Mak and then seeing the Long Queues at Virtual reality Corner and Chinese Calligraphy Corner planned to leave the premises. And tabhi awaaz aayi, whoever has the maximum number of Rs 2000 Currency notes gets a prize. I thought ki 5 notes hai and ran towards the stage. Realized ki 3 hi hai. But then the MC changed the game and got 5 more contestants on the stage. All of them were females. Mein bechara akela larrka, Sharam bhi aa rahi thi.
Now the game was to Say Kaccha Papparr, Pukka Papparr 10 times in the least possible time. I took 13 Seconds and the winner took 12 Seconds. But fun tha.
Shook hands with all the contestants and then rushed to have some more khaana.
Macao, yeh Trailer tha, I am coming soon to relish your hospitality jee 🙂
By the way, did you know Macao is also called “Las Vegas of the East?
