Kylin Experience GK, a name that has always been known for its good Asian food, Great Service and its refined crowd.
Even in this age of Social media where every PBLR (Pub, Bar, Restaurant Lounge) is shouting at the top of its voice, This Brand has focussed on its Basics and maintained its class and hence its Diners too.
This week, I was invited there for Lunch at their newly opened restaurant Kylin Experience GK in N Block market, GK-1.
Located on the first floor, this is a cosy place with lots of Natural light and makes it a perfect place to have your meal with your friends while chatting or even sitting alone with a book, your phone or maybe just thoughts.
The interiors are minimalistic and the hint of Red every where made me love the place even more.
Well greeted by the hostess at the ground floor you climb those 14 steps with ease and one can smell the freshness of the place as soon as You enter inside.
The Menu is divided into Sushi, Dimsums, “Soups, Salads & Starters”, “From the Grill”, Signature Bowls meals”, “Classic Bowl meals, Desserts and Beverages”
Simple Menu, koi Drama-Shrama nahi and makes it easy for you to order.
However, here we we had a Fixed menu for today and since it was a bit garmi bahar I ordered the Mocktail, ever Ending freshness” Ab naam hi aisa tha ki raha nahi gaya. And first sip of it and I was already feeling fresh. I am wondering ki jab shaam ki thakawat hogi tab to this would give more freshness
Ab you know I’m not a Salad person so rather than ordering a full portion opted for a shared portion with my friends on the table.
However, First sight of the Bowl and I regretted my decision. It was a treat to the eyes and when Ginger Olive Dressing was poured over the “Farmers Market Green Quinoa Salad” the taste too matched with the Visual. Believe me, I finished it quickly. It had so many Ingredients like Pomegranate Seeds, Corns, Baby Tomatoes and greens that each bit tasted different and better than the earlier one
This is set for the tone for the afternoon and very soon we were treated to Chicken Wonton with Sichuan Chilli Oil. The flavour full chicken inside and uske uppar Chilli Oil ka tarrka were a perfect combo. I could have more but Sushi was already on my table.
Now Pehle “Veg Philadelphia Roll” was on the table and I was not expecting much. Ab Veg Sushi se kya umeed karoge.
Par I was proved wrong. Believe me this VEG sushi was much better than many Non veg Ones I have had. Baakis ab to kamaal tha hi par the Crunch it gave with each bite was what made me keep chewing and keep picking more for myself.
When I go back, I may or may not order a Non veg Sushi, But this Veg Philadelphia Sushi is must.
Infact we did order a portion of it post our main course.
And yes, they are available in Portion size of 4 pcs and 8 pcs.
Now I also got to know that the owners of the brand have their own farms and They also breed Poultry and that too the Free Range Chickens. They are the ones who are fed proper diet and are not confined to their cages. They, as the name suggests have ample space for themselves to run around and develop properly and hence all this reflects in the taste.
We were served Sesame Ginger Free Range Chicken. Mast Sauce, poora Juicy and wonderful texture.
Now Main course ki baari and they have 2 kinds of BOWL MEALS> Sentosa Bowl and Bibibop Bowl.
Sentosa Bowl is more like Dan Dan Noodles with CHicken, Chilli Flakes, Bok Choy etc.
However, I ordered the BIBIBOP Bowl with Pork Option. Other Options are in Tofu, Chicken and tenderloin. It’s a Korean Mixed Rice Bowl with Julienne vegetables in Korean Sauce.
The Bowl topped with Fried egg came to our table and was topped with Korean Sauce and then mixed for us on the table.
Now I know why this is MAIN COURSE. It was so filling ki aap bas ek bowl kha lo and nothing else is required.
The bowl was a Tasty, Healthy, Had lots of different textures and sahi kahu to Good Enough for 2. WIll try the tenderloin BIBIBOP bowl when I go there next.
Ab Jaise hi menu dekha tha my Nazar was on the Dessert, it said Gluten Free Chocolate Mousse and Fried Ice Cream Spring roll.
Chocolate Mousse is common so I picked up Spring Roll Ice Cream First. Sab Spring Roll jaisa tha, and filling mein it was a combo of Mango and Vanilla Ice cream.
Full Marks for the innovation. Par mujhe laga vanilla ki jagah agar Mango ice cream hi hoti poori to accha lagta. On Enquiring and sharing the feedback, Chef Mentioned that this is to balance colours as Yellow Ice Cream inside and the Golden Fried texture outside would not come out very well. Still he promised to experiment it again and see if it works.
Now these Small Cups of Gluten Free Chocolate Mousse were sitting in front of me. Ab naraaz to hum kisi ko karte nahi and Chocolate to waise hi bahut pyaari hoti hai. So bas Chamach uthaya, Ek scoop nikala, Mooh mein daala and sab kuch ruk sa gaya and I moaned. Yaar itni kamaaal… mean Sacchi mein…. Gluten Free soch kar my expectation were very low, but this made me swing my spoon and take a bit more ki yeh kuch garbarr to nahi hai and the second one was even better.
Best part is that all this was very reasonable priced a decent Meal for 2 in this restaurant would be Rs 2000- 2500 per Couple.
I’m going back for sure jaldi se. Probably for Sunday lunch kinds. Aap Chalenge?
