Chalo Mumbai for Ganpati Visarjan – Day 1

Some times it’s better to go with the flow of your heart than think hard before taking a decision.
And that’s what I did this time. Rahul Naverkar Sir posted the details of their “Chalo Mumbai” event.

Which was to go to Mumbai especially & participate in Ganpati Visarjan.

And wait, there’s more to it. 30 people would go from Delhi and around 50 would join in Mumbai.

I mentioned on the post that it was an amazing initiative and would love to work with him so that I could avail this opportunity too and to that he immediately replied “Join us on this Trip Gurpreet – it’s your kind of thing”

yes Mumbai Indianroots
And I didn’t think twice and tickets were booked from his office.

Till the last day I had my doubts I of joining it.

Mujhe lag raha tha ki shayad last minute cancel ho jayega.

But nahi… eventually the day came and I reached Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station, all set for this journey.

34 of us… 33 from the awesome e-Commerce startup www.indianroots.com  (and mein akela not part of the Team) began our journey in “Garib Rath” Train to Mumbai.

2015-09-26 08.06.46

I had an akeli seat as it was booked alag se as I was last one to confirm and as Mrinal bhai says..  mine was the last seat to be booked on this train

Neverthess…. I knew the fun had just started and how right I was!

Sabse pehle to I met KK Bhai who is a native from Bihar and a Lyricist in Mumbai and was in delhi to meet his brother and Girlfriend
One more reason for him to come to delhi this time was because his Birthday was 2 days ago & he wanted to celebrate it with his known ones rather than alone in his Flat at Mira Road, Mumbai

We had great talks about Poetry, Gulzar Sahib, Ghalib and he was kind enough to give me a Preview to his new song “Boond” which has been sung by Arijit Singh and shall be releasing soon in a movie starring Prateik Babbar.

I can just say one thing the entire song left me mesmerized and asking for more.

I wish he could share it with me so that I could share it with aap sabke saath.

By then I also got to know that co-travelers Jaspreet and Chandni who handle Social Media for  www.indianroots.com  were in next cabin and I asked them if they would like to join us for the gupshup. They willingly agreed too and the gupshups got more intense and more entertaining.

Had to mention that I had a short interaction with Jaspreet just a while ago as I had written a poem on this trip a while back and recited to her to see if this is worthy of sharing with our Co-Travellers through a  common WhatsApp group of this event. She thoughts it’s good and I shared with everyone and was good to see that it was appreciated by all 🙂

Here is the Poem 🙂

“Aaj Garib Rath par hum , Dil ke Raheeso” ki nikli hai sawari…
Hum sab karke chale hai Ganesh visarjan ki teyarri….

Shanivaar ko Bombay jaakar is tyohaar ka dekhenge Rang…
aur apni Mukurahato aur Natkhat tareeke se bhar denge isme ek nayi umang…

Ghoomenge Firenge gayenge gaaana….
Mumbai ke Kone kone ka khayenge hum swadisht khana….

Fir sunday ko milenege hum sab at Bhendi baazaar…
Puneri Dhol ke saath nachenge gayenge hum sab yaar….

Hum IndianRoots walo ke saath honge humare Mumbai wale Pretr aur GOQII ke yaars….
Milkar Kehlayegi yeh “Team of Rockstars”

Ghoomte firte hum Chowpatty pahunch jayenge…
Ganeshjee ko alvida kehte hue..
“Ganpati Bappay Morya… agle Baras tu jaldi aa”, ki pukaar lagayenge….

Uske baad karunga apne sab Rockstar dosto ka dhanyavaad…
Aur Kahunga ab jab bhi muskuraunga to ayegi tum sab ki yaad..” 🙂

The First Station to come was Mathura Junction and the 3 vacant seats were taken by an Elderly Sufi Follower Syed Shamshad Hussain from Budaun (Pronounced as Badayun)

Unke baare mein kabhi aur bataunga… but in short it was awesome communicating with him

This will give you an idea about him that after 2 hours of intense Karmic Discussions Kamal Bhai said,  “Mein is Garib Rath se ameer hokar ja raha hu”  🙂

Aur iske baad the “Chalo Mumbai” gang gathered in one cabin…. one over each other and played Antakshari in which we not only sang popular songs but also sang some songs we created ourselves as we were not able to remember any.

Bas uske baad bought a Simple Veg Thali and had dinner

By the way let me share something more about the event.

For the main event day on Sunday an Awesome Puneri Drum which is a Unique 26 people band has been hired. Not only that…. we would have some great people video filming the entire event and creating a short entertaining clip for it.

By the way there is more to it.

A great “Chalo Mumbai” anthem has been created especially for it. And here it is.

I know you can sense how excited we are and you would also secretly want to be a part of it.

Koi na…… agli baar sahi.

So…after having a bit tiring and eventful day I slept to glory but my co- passengers did not!!

I got to know next morning ki I slept and snored and others had to wear earphones to cut my NOISE.

Anyways… subah I got up at 4 am and apne khyalo mein kho gaya looking at the first rays of sun touching the fields while Small Bridges and streams passed by.

Finally it was time for sun rise and I proceeded to the gate to have thandi hawa and click some pics.

And the pic that I liked was the pic I clicked of Milind Bhai and the sunrise in his Tablet.

Thankfully the train was on time… rather 6 mins early.

Finally we reached the Bandra Station, clicked some group pics. Team IndianRoots had got Orange Kurtas especially for the event and they were distributed. Thankfully mere size ka bhi ek mil gaya.

The Group pic... And yes Yours truly is not in this pic as he was clicking it :-)

With this we all set for our respective flats to spend next 2 days of awesomeness in Bombay witnessing the Final day of the Biggest Festival of this region, “Ganesh Visarjan”

Aage ki Khabar kal 🙂
